A spring with genuine smiles and joys to have and give it to those around you!

Diaspora – Romania’s Strategic Resource

The fifth edition of the “Pulse at 5 o’clock” was dedicated to addressing a very actual theme: “Diaspora – Romania’s Strategic Resource”. The speaker of this meeting was Mr. Marius Bostan, the initiator of the “RePatriot” project and a well-known investor in the capital market, with a rich management experience as a member of various boards of directors of companies, funds or non-profit organizations. Mr. Marius Bostan is a founder and was President of the National Federation of Young Managers and a member of the Romanian Business Leader.

The participants in the meeting, representatives of both the private environment and of the government institutions, during their interventions had underlined the need and the desire to support the steps started in this direction through the “RePatriot” project.

In all its events, TIV Legal wants and manages to gather under different pretexts (to read themes of events) but of great interest, valuable people, determined to build communication and common action bridges. The present edition of “Pulse at 5 o’clock” has once again confirmed to us that, once the pulse of the days in which we live is taken, it is necessary to continue with the direct involvement of each one of us.

NEXT LEVEL

For us, Tuesday, January 21, 2020, brought multiple joys by gravitating around the magic figure “3”.

In episode 3 of the series “Business Off. Get Social ” we announced the completion of the entrepreneurial formula that we have dreamed of since our beginning with a super elite partner that brings confidence, strength and international recognition, Anda Todor. So now we are in a formula of 3 -TIV Legal.

In a relaxed atmosphere (as we used to) and enjoying our guests who are part of our Community, each of us three, Anda, Mihaela and Tiberius, “a little” excited, but confident in the step taken, shared with the members of our professionals community our plans for the future that will unfold around the three pillars of power: international expertise, technology innovation and entrepreneurship.

And what can be more enjoyable than sharing the joys and achievements with your loved ones? That is why we chose to celebrate the day of our partnership with our community, to go to NEXT LEVEL together because we want this “small step” for us to mean a “huge step” for our Community!

Happy New Year, 2020!

We wish you a healthy and prosperous new year, in which you shall see your dreams come true!

Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas!

Todor, Istocescu & Vintila wishes you a Merry Christmas!

Happy birthday, Romania!

On the National Day of Romania, Istocescu&Vintilă wishes “Happy Birtday” to the Romanians from all over the world!

Open Air Blues Festival Brezoi 2019

Thank you from our hearts, Mihai !!!

We know that in the logic of every writting, the thank you notes are always the ending, but we just could not say  anything about Open Air Blues Festival Brezoi without having the perfectly logical reflex to, first of all, thank the one without whom we would not have what to write about, what to remember with emotion, what to think about an entire year and why to expect the middle of July every year for…

We do not see any point in resuming our own long line of appreciation (All extremly positive!!! And rightly so!) heard live at Brezoi, red on Facebook and in the press, seen on all the faces of those who were there. It is pointless for the simple fact that, already, to praise this wonderful festival, the impeccable organisation, the artistic level etc. etc. etc. Is already redundant! But we can always be grateful!

From the very beginnig, this Festival was, first of all, a state, an emotion, a magical thing that floated in the air, filling all the existing space between the mountains, Lotru and our hearts…. This year we can say we were a bit concerned that the large number of participants could stir up the beauty of the emotions lived before in the more restricted and enthusiastic community of the first two editions, but fortunately, it was not like that…. by simply raising the community, the emotion increased without losing any feeling! This new thing changed our perspective and from our point of view thought us a great lesson: the community does not stir intimacy! Exlusivism should not  conflict with the large number of participants… We can get many „special” people together and the more there are, the better it gets! Good is increased by the number of participants and not vice versa… And here is how the „romantic period” of the first two editions continues through the delicacy of sensations felt by a receptive and exponentially growing community!

Last year we mentioned that this Festival was already borned big and it growes like a beautiful Prince Charming and concerning this, our intuition was correct… We are convinced that Mihai just warmed up and has many other things in store in order to surprise us and make us happy! So, just to remind you what we said and what we will always say:

We have something in common

We recognize each other

We choose ourselves like one

Together we support and rejoice

We always rediscover ourselves

MEET YOU AT BREZOI IN 2020!

The untold story of the software licenses

We have successfully turned the first page of the “Untold story of software licenses” on Monday, 11th February 2019.

We had the chance to talk about the numerous challenges organisations face when buying software licenses, we went through the complex software license lifecycle and, lastly, introduced the Software Asset Management concept as a potential solution to reduce complexity and as an enabler for better software buying decisions.

Together with our guests we have discussed two apparently different outlooks on software asset management, one coming from the public sector and one from the private sector and while the perspective might be different, we think the challenges faced by customers are the same: complicated contractual agreements and a lack of process in effectively managing the installation and usage of software products.

We would like to thank all the participants for taking part in the conversation and sharing their thoughts and experiences related to license management!

We are looking forward to turning more pages from this story, either through similar events, articles or practical workshops.

Stay tuned for news or upcoming events!

SAM – The untold story of the software licenses

What does SAM (Software Asset Management) mean?

Recurring errors made by companies during the process of acquiring and using software licenses resulted in the need for SAM as a way to wisely manage these assets.

The most common mistake that companies make in the process of purchasing and using a software license is to use it without reading and fully understanding the license agreement.

The first thing that needs to be understood is the very notion of a software license, and its’s “acquisition”/”purchase”, as per the license agreement, the customer does not own the software product itself, he is only granted the contingent right to make use of the software, under certain conditions.

In this regard, we exemplify with an extract from the “Microsoft License Terms”:

“The software is licensed, not sold. Under this agreement, we grant you the right to install (…) and run one instance on your device (…), for use by one person at a time, but only if you comply with all the terms of this agreement”.

Therefore, the purchase contract does not imply full ownership of the product but only grants a right (license) to use the software, limited to a number of users and certain terms of use.

Furthermore, this right to use the software product has additional responsibilities and restrictions attached, which are oftentimes misunderstood due to their high complexity.

Consequently, the process of purchasing a software license and subsequently setting up a proper management for it  needs to rely on both legal and technical skills. Making use of these skills and knowledge at the time of the purchase and during  the period of use limits (or avoids entirely) the financial risks to which the company may be exposed in the long run as a consequence  of misinterpreting the  licensing terms and/or legal the vocabulary of the usage conditions.

Purchasing is just the first part of the journey that a software license follows in a company. The flow is completed by the software license installation, usage and maintenance.

Monitoring the entire life cycle of a software license involves a series of processes and activities that define the Software Asset Management business practice.

We will discuss together more details on this subject as well as the mechanism of managing the software licenses on February 11th, starting with 6 PM, when we open, in a narrow circle, the first chapter of “SAM – The untold story of the software licenses”.

Participation in the events will be possible by invitation only.

Please express your interest in participating in these events in the future and we will be happy to send you an invitation.

Season greetings!

Dears, we wish you a fairy tale like winter, peaceful winter celebrations and may the joy fill your souls.
